Orange

Orange was a town in southern France, the destination Thomas set out for after being cleansed and fed in a village that had mistaken him for an English routier. He walked toward it with renewed bearing, seeking to find Delphine, who had left their camp.

Orange was a walled town on the road to Avignon, approached through a large Roman arch that stood as a guardian before its gates. The area outside its walls was built up with shops and houses, though a reverential space was left clear around the ancient arch. It was also the subject of the famous chanson de geste, 'La Prise d'Orange'.

Orange was a town in Provence that Thomas of Hookton walked toward after his journey began. The settlement sat behind a grand Roman arch, with houses and shops crowding outside its walls. It later became visible when the battle between angels and devils in the Rhône sent a towering plume of illuminated water into the sky.
