Thomas, who had been impersonating the Comte d'Évreux, has returned to his original body, Thomas de Givras, which emerged from the river; the comte's body is now dead.
Thomas de Givras was a heavily muscled knight, recognizable by his graying beard and scarred face. He emerged from the Rhône in rusty armor, returned to his true body through a breath-sharing kiss, and then tipped the dead Comte d'Évreux into the river.
