Gilon

Gilon was a guard in the service of Cardinal Cyriac, entrusted with the duty to protect him. On the night of the cardinal's strange visitation, however, Gilon drank an entire pitcher of wine himself and fell into a deep, unrousable sleep, leaving his post unguarded.
