The old blind man the Creature observed is named De Lacey, not Alphonse Frankenstein; the Creature's earlier references to 'father' were to De Lacey.
The blind father of Felix and Agatha, formerly a respected and affluent Frenchman living in Paris; he aided Felix's plot to free Safie's father (a condemned Turkish merchant) by hiding with Agatha in Paris, but was imprisoned when the plot was discovered, then tried, stripped of his fortune, and exiled to Germany, where the family lives in poverty in a cottage secretly observed by the Creature. There he walks daily leaning on Felix, plays music and encourages his children out of melancholy, and welcomed Safie affectionately when she arrived, later conversing with Felix late into the night and delighting in Safie's music.
The blind father of Felix and Agatha, formerly a respected, affluent Frenchman, imprisoned and exiled to Germany after Felix's plot to free Safie's father was discovered, now living in poverty in a cottage secretly observed by the Creature. Left alone while his children and Safie walked in the country, he played guitar, then welcomed the Creature inside, listened sympathetically to its plea to be reunited with the friends who secretly aided it, and was moved to help—but before he could act, his returning family beheld the Creature clutching his hand, and Felix violently tore the Creature away and drove it off.
