The Gryphon, lying asleep in the sun, was ordered by the Queen to take Alice to see the Mock Turtle. After the Queen left, it chuckled, told Alice the Queen's executions were all her fancy, and led Alice to the Mock Turtle. It sat with them, frequently interrupting and commenting during the Mock Turtle's story about his education.
The Gryphon, lying asleep in the sun, was ordered by the Queen to take Alice to see the Mock Turtle. After the Queen left, it chuckled, told Alice the Queen's executions were all her fancy, and led Alice to the Mock Turtle. It sat with them, frequently interrupting and commenting during the Mock Turtle's story, then helped explain and demonstrate the Lobster Quadrille, engaged in wordplay about whiting and shoes, and urged Alice to recite poems before hurriedly taking her away when the trial was announced.
The Gryphon whispered to Alice in court, explaining that the jurors were writing down their names so they wouldn't forget them before the trial's end.
