The Queen sent an invitation for the Duchess to play croquet.
The Queen, who had sent an invitation to the Duchess, was said to have jumped up at a great concert and shouted 'He's murdering the time! Off with his head!'
The Queen of Hearts arrived in the garden, threatened to behead Alice and the gardeners, and presided over a chaotic croquet game where she frequently shouted 'Off with his head!' or 'Off with her head!'. She ordered the execution of the Cheshire Cat and, in the ensuing dispute, sent for the Duchess from prison.
The Queen, frowning like a thunderstorm, interrupted Alice and the Duchess, warning the Duchess to leave or lose her head. She then resumed the croquet game, frequently sentencing players, before taking Alice to see the Gryphon and ordering it to lead Alice to the Mock Turtle to hear his history, after which she left to see after some executions.
The Queen, attending the trial, stared at the Hatter, ordered his beheading, and shrieked for the Dormouse to be collared, beheaded, and turned out of court.
The Queen added that Alice was nearly two miles high, inquired about the evidence paper, and declared it proved guilt. She furiously denied ever having fits and threw an inkstand at the Lizard, demanded 'Sentence first—verdict afterwards,' ordered Alice to hold her tongue, and finally shouted 'Off with her head!'
